Letter blip from US Representative Travis Childers (D) in support of convicted felon Joey Langston

This was provided to YP from one of the sources who viewed the letters directly, and confirmed by another who viewed it as well.

From a letter dated 1/22/08 to Judge Mills in support of Joey Langston from now US Representative Travis Childers (D - MS01) . . . .

"This is not a man who has lost his way. He may have gotten sidetracked, but he hasn't lost his way. I only wish that every town and county in America had someone like Joey Langston."

"If losing his license to practice law isn't severe enough punishment, then certainly the embarrassment from the local and regional news is. Joey understands consequences and will accept your sentence as he has agreed."

"...I know his heart and it is good. I wish I could fix this situation. I would take his punishment if I could."

WOW. This certainly brings up two really interesting questions.

1. Would this have made a difference in Childers’ campaign?
2. Was this why Langston’s lawyers fought access to the letters?
