Barbour trims $21 million in fourth round of budget cuts

State senators on Friday took back nearly half the money they voted a day earlier to restore to education, and Gov. Haley Barbour then took some of the money schools are still getting by announcing $21 million in new spending cuts.

Barbour's new cuts include $1.1 million in education spending, mostly from the $2 billion Mississippi Adequate Education Program.

On Thursday, senators voted to restore $45 million Barbour had cut previously from the MAEP to pay for the state's top teachers. However, the Senate held the legislation on a parliamentary move that allowed the action to be reconsidered Friday.

Bunch of cowards in the Legislature and the MSSC.  Exempt themselves like they so much fracking better than any other state agency.  Wish the Governor would take them to court and challenge them on it, just for the hell of it.  And make it a national story and embarrass them, considering the jackasses they are all acting like.

The MSSC acting like they’re untouchable, and the Legislature headed toward overtime special sessions because they are all sitting on their fat asses now and not doing squat in the house especially but throwing temper tantrums and trying to sell the state plane to get back at Governor Barbour and wanting to spend every damn penny from every damn account now and pray bout anything else later.  Who the hell knows where we would be now if Governor Barbour hadn’t held their feet to the fire last summer, and the fools haven’t even started on NEXT budget year yet.

We can all get ready.. they so dang stupid, they not gonna cut back without Governor Barbour beating them over the head with the bully pulpit and the pieces.  They gonna want to raise some taxes and “fees”, which is code for TAX INCREASE.

Dang it Governor Barbour, get out there everyday and beat the MS House and Wormfarmer McCoy over the head every dang day and don’t let up.  It’s been proven that being nice and polite doesn’t work with the morons pretending to run the MS House.

Haley has no choice except to do what he is doing, and will continue to do concerning what and who to cut.  McCoy and his minions have prevented him from balancing a budget the correct way as he requested.

Ticked, you asked, “...who knows where we would be now if Governor Barbour hadn’t held their feet to the fire last summer...” We’d be right where Johnny Stringer left us with his proclomation, “spend all the rainy day fund now (2009). the econonmy will be probably be better next year.” For those not paying attention, 2010 is not better than 2009, nor is 2011-2012 looking up.

I just can’t let Johnny boy forget about that nonsense.
