Women marching in Jackson, too

In Mississippi, women will be marching at the state Capitol from noon to 3 p.m.

“We do see the event in Jackson as an extension of what’s happening nationally,” said Marisa Jane Green, organizer of Women’s March on Jackson.

“I’m marching because as a woman, I think it’s absolutely terrifying that we’ve elected an (alleged) sexual assaulter as president. I'm marching because white supremacy has no place in our government. I'm marching because I believe that climate change is real. I'm marching because I believe that trans lives matter and black lives matter and because I believe in equal pay for woman and in women’s reproductive rights.”
