Miss. AG Must Testify in Katrina Lawsuit

Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood is scheduled to testify Wednesday - a day after his re-election bid - at a hearing for a lawsuit that accuses him of violating an agreement to end a criminal investigation of State Farm Insurance Cos.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Parker refused Tuesday to postpone Hood's scheduled appearance at a federal courthouse in Jackson, or to limit the scope of his testimony in the case.

Hood had argued that Tuesday's election didn't give him time to properly prepare for the hearing. Parker, however, said he isn't convinced that the timing of the hearing "prejudices him in any way."

This may emerge as the story of the night.  Hood may be in deep do.  He has to testify as a witness, and the Judge refused to (1) delay his appearance and (2) limit the scope of the testimony.

It doesn’t seem like he will have any privelege to hide behind.

So, when he gave his speech tonight and said, “I’ll be back in court tomorrow morning”.... think this is what he meant?

Just wait until he has to travel over to Alabama to face the Judge along with his cohort Scruggs.  Gonna be interesting..

Hood got slapped with a TRO today.  Hood cannot investigate State Farm any more until Judge Parker decides what to do with him.

Big news.
