Why is this “huge news”?  Was Huckabee expected to endorse a Democrat for this seat?

Huckabee was titular head of the Arkansas Republican Party for 10 and 1/2 years.  In 2008, the GOP couldn’t even come up with a candidate for US senator.

I wonder if Nunelee agrees with Huckabee’s stance favoring statehood for the District of Columbia.

I’m sure Nunelee is glad for the money from the PAC but just don’t see where this is huge news.  Nunelee is the best shot int MS-1 to beat childers so why not endorse him.

I won’t get into quibbling over it being “huge” news or not, but it’s “good” news.  Huckabee wasn’t expected to endorse a Dem, but he didn’t have to endorse anybody. And that he’s doing it this far out, will help Nunelee.

Will help him momentum-wise, make it more likely for other big names to endorse him, get him some money and since this is pre-primary, it could discourage challengers.  And since it’s a primary contribution, I believe his PAC will be able to give a 2nd time for the general.

Thing is Howard, Huchabee has made a couple of trips into North Mississippi in the past over this seat.  The pubs know this is one up for grabs and all stops will be pulled out.  Romney will do likewise with his PAC just as he has before I’ll bet.
