NUNNELEE VOTES AGAINST SPENDING $50 BILLION WITH NO OFFSETS
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss) released the following statement on H.R. 152, The Disaster Relief Appropriations Act, 2013:
“I support providing aid to communities hit by natural disasters. I am opposed to the broken process that led to spending $50 billion without cutting spending elsewhere. Disaster aid, like all federal spending, is not free, we either pay for it now or pay for it later with interest; I think we should have paid for it now.”
H.R. 152 passed, 241-180.
Congressman Alan Nunnelee represents Mississippi’s First Congressional District and serves on the House Appropriations Committee. This is his second term.
