QUINN - Scruggs and others sued by Derak Wyatt ... 123-PAGE COMPLAINT/ATTACHMENTS HERE
Here is the complaint
OXFORD — Dickie Scruggs and others are being sued in Lafayette County Circuit Court because his attempted bribery allegedly caused the disqualification of a Jackson lawyer from Hurricane Katrina lawsuits.
The lawyer, Derek Wyatt, charges in the suit that Scruggs, David Nutt and Mary McAlister refused to pay him the full amount of a joint-venture agreement. Wyatt also asserts their alleged illegal and unethical practices led to his disqualification from Katrina cases.
Wyatt's lawsuit, filed under seal April 16, was recently released.
Wyatt says he began working for the Ridgeland law firm of Nutt and McAlister after being offered 10 percent of any Katrina settlement money, which totaled about $1.11 million. But he said he was paid only a $100,000 per year salary.
"Motivated by insatiable greed, McAlister and Nutt reasoned that taking (Wyatt's) fee share would boost their own shares," wrote Wyatt's Jackson attorney, Michael Simmons.
Nutt already has a lawsuit pending in Madison County Chancery Court asking that a judge decides if Nutt owes any money to Wyatt.
The Lafayette County complaint alleges a judge's disqualification order nullified two years' work by Wyatt in about 465 State Farm cases.

Kudos to our man Paul Quinn who sourced this. It’s a long read, but worth it. We continue to learn little tidbits about the Rigsby gals and how their “consulting” money was paid out.
Also, the underlying theme of Scruggs screwing his cohorts seems to be underlined again. Let’s see how many suits we can name of Scruggs in dispute with partners.
Luckey v.
Wilson v.
Jones v.
Wilson v. 2.0
Wyatt v.
Scruggs v. Zuckerman Spaeder (over payment of Rigsby gals legal fees)
Are there others?
