Childers confirms he's submitted Tollison for U.S. attorney

U.S. Rep. Travis Childers confirmed today that he's asked President Obama to nominate Oxford attorney Gray Tollison as North Mississippi's new U.S. attorney.

"I feel very strongly about Gray Tollison's qualifications, which include his service as both a state senator and a community leader," Childers told the Daily Journal. "For such a young man, he has already contributed a lifetime of public service to our state. Gray is an outstanding attorney and I have great confidence in him."

Earlier today, state Sen. Gray Tollison wasn't denying that his name may be in the mix as North Mississippi's next U.S. attorney.

An interesting potential scenario . . . suppose this gets fasttracked.  That would put Barbour in the position of calling a special election to replace Tollison that MIGHT coincide with the November general featuring Nunnelee and Childers.

Out of the Senate and into a fluffy federal job prosecuting criminals.  I’m OK with it.

But will he be a good USA and prosecute all criminals or “ pull a Holder” and refused to prosecute Black criminals?  In today’s world anything is up for consideration when you have a biased Attorney General and a liar for a President! What a bunch of thugs!!!

I know Gray Tollison well.  I cannot think of a better selection.  The question will be if Obama will actually go for it.  I am a conservative Republican and Gray is what I would call a moderate Democrat but Gray has integrity and will do the right thing on any case that comes up.
