BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the “Mississippi Minimum Wage Act.”
SECTION 2. (1) As used in this section, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly requires otherwise:
(2) Every employer shall pay each of his or her employees 24 wages at the rate of not less than Eight Dollars Twenty-five cents ($8.25) per hour, except as otherwise provided in this section.
