This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a bill trying to designate the Holy Bible as the state book of Mississippi, and if it doesn’t pass I’m sure it won’t be the last. Rep. Tom Miles authored HB130, which would make the Bible Mississippi’s official book.
The following shall be codified as Section 3-3-63, Mississippi Code of 1972:
3-3-63. The Holy Bible is designated as the official state book of Mississippi.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
And it’s as simple as that. The bill has been referred to Tourism;Rules.
