Questions still loom as to who Gov. Bryant will appoint to fill Senator Thad Cochran’s seat in the U.S. Senate after Cochran announced he would be stepping down on Monday. His official last day will be April 1.

One thing is certain though, Gov. Bryant will not put himself in the Seat.

Clay Chandler, Director of Communications for the Governor, confirmed Tuesday that Gov. Bryant has zero intentions of appointing himself to the seat. The Governor has 10 days, after April 1st, to appoint someone to fill Cochran’s seat for the duration of his term.
