Mississippi Court of Appeals Judge Cory Wilson is on Capitol Hill today attending the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for his nomination to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
Wilson, a former State Representative, was nominated to the federal court by President Donald Trump in October 2019.
Gov. Phil Bryant appointed Wilson to the Mississippi Court of Appeals in February 2019, replacing Judge Kenneth Griffis who was appointed to the Mississippi Supreme Court.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Mississippi is one of 94 U.S. District Courts.
