21-year-old Tulane Student vs. former Moss Point Mayor in District 110 runoff

A 21-year-old student at Tulane University will face off against the former mayor of Moss Point in a runoff election for the District 110 seat in the state House.

Jeramey Anderson got the most votes, 902. Anneice Liddell, the former mayor, got 634. They were the top vote-getters in the field of five but neither received more than 50 percent of the votes.

Mitch Ellerby, who served eight years as District 110 representative, received 408 votes, Tyres Autrey received 183 and Anne’A McMillion, 45.

The winner of the Nov. 26 runoff will serve the final two years of Billy Broomfield’s term. Broomfield resigned after he defeated Liddell in the Democratic primary and went on to win the mayor’s race earlier this year.
