46 AGs file brief supporting Jim Hood in Supreme Court case

WASHINGTON (Legal Newsline) — A group of 46 state attorneys general are backing Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood’s efforts to have a November ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

In May, the nation’s high court agreed to decide whether federal courts have jurisdiction over lawsuits filed in state courts by attorneys general on behalf of consumers.

Oral arguments in Mississippi ex rel Hood v. AU Optronics Corp. will be scheduled for the fall term.
