Public Policy Polling, which did a slew of polling on Mississippi before the elections in November, gave Haley Barbour a 60 percent approval rating compared to 29 percent who disapprove. Of the 37 governors’ they have polled this year, Barbour’s numbers are the highest of any.
As Barbour leaves office after eight years, he will exit with approval ratings greater than either of his two victories, and can certainly smile at the shape the party is in as everyone prepares for life after Barbour.
And here are some recently released (somewhat) random polls (links here and here) from PPP:
** Newt Gingrich has a +38 favorability rating (63/25) in Mississippi among primary voters, while Mitt Romney is at -37 (25/62).
