Some say a bill limiting casinos to the seven counties they’re already in would keep the existing facilities financially stable.

It also would put at ease the residents who don’t want to see an expansion of Mississippi’s gaming industry.

Some others maintain Senate Bill 2199 disenfranchises voters and is another step toward shutting out some poor counties that could benefit from gaming.

On Tuesday, the controversial legislation cleared the Senate floor with 36 members in favor and 14 against.
