City of Biloxi to receive more than $1 mill. from FEMA

The City of Biloxi is set to receive $1 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the rebuilding of the Maritime and Seafood Museum.

The museum on Point Cadet opened in 2014, nine years after Katrina wiped out the building that housed 300 years of artifacts and history of Biloxi’s fishing and seafood industry.

After FEMA denied some payments for the museum new museum, the city filed an appeal. Following the appeal, FEMA sent a letter saying Biloxi is entitled to a little more than $1 million.
