Bo Schembechler’s triumph in 1969 should inspire 2009 Wolverines

They will walk together again through the tunnel Saturday, onto the field in the stadium where they had their greatest victory, and arguably the most significant moment in the modern era — Michigan and Ohio State.
Forty years ago, against all odds but not a surprise to them, the 1969 Wolverines, led by Bo Schembechler in his first season coaching against his mentor, Woody Hayes, pulled a stunning 24-12 upset of the top-ranked Buckeyes to begin The Ten Year War and restore the Wolverines to national prominence.
