Speed workouts and weight training are, of course, part of the equation, but weight control plays a role as well. Bolden met with the media Tuesday and said he’s at 213 pounds. That will work for playing weight. He wants to make sure to stay under 217 pounds. Bolden’s weight occasionally hovers above that ceiling, and he uses a strategy learned during a freshman health class to lower his pounds.
Ironically, Bolden occasionally diets by eating more.
“I’ll always remember my teacher telling us to break our meals down into about five snacks a day instead of a couple big meals,” Bolden said. “It has to do with metabolism, and it works. Yesterday, I had noodles a couple times ”
