Brees gets into swing of S.B. perks

RANCHO SANTA FE — As the quarterback of the reigning Super Bowl champions, Drew Brees drew Jack Nicklaus as his pro-am playing partner at a PGA Tour event.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback had to turn down Arnold Palmer for such an opportunity at another event because of a schedule conflict while touring with a USO show overseas.

“I guess the Super Bowl thing has its perks,” said Brees, the former Charger, who also is set to play in the U.S. Open pro-am at Pebble Beach.
