Childers opts for phone-in debate on health care reform

Some Democratic congressmen have elected to use the telephone conference call approach rather than live town hall meetings to hear from constituents on President Barack Obama’s health insurance reform proposals, including a bill that passed a House committee (and which Childers said he does not support) just before the August recess.

Childers is being challenged in next year’s First District race by Republican state Sen. Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo.
