A delayed report on campaign spending has Democratic auditor candidate Mike Sumrall questioning the decision-making of his runoff opponent, Todd Brand.

“I just don’t see how you can trust someone as state auditor if he can’t file a campaign finance report,” Sumrall said Friday.

The tiff is an example of a heated primary runoff vote Tuesday. In addition to state auditor, voters across Mississippi also will chose party nominees for legislative seats and county races, including supervisor and district attorney. There’s also a Public Service Commission race on the ballot.
