Charges dropped in Pickering’s dispute with coach

Appearing this afternoon in Madison Municipal Court, Pickering and Chris Hester asked Judge Dale Danks to dismiss the charges and he agreed.

But that might not be the end of it.

Speaking to reporters after the hearing, Hester’s attorney, Mac McCool, said his client has medical expenses related to the incident and lost time from his job.

After the hearing Pickering said that he and Hester had agreed independently that dropping the charges was the right thing to do.

“I regret very much this episode,” Pickering said. “I was trying to protect my son and I believe he was trying to protect one of his players.
