Clarion Ledger – Absentee ballot reform needed

It’s apparent, as Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann has pointed out, there’s something amiss with absentee voting.

As The Clarion-Ledger reported, in 20 of the state’s 82 counties, absentee voting made up 10 percent or more of total votes cast.

“These numbers are troubling,” said Hosemann. “I’m concerned about how absentee ballots are being cast in Mississippi. We want to follow the trail.”

Particularly troubling is having individuals sign as a witness for dozens of voters.
