Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann deserves another term. That he has an opponent is largely a formality for the general election.
Robert Graham, the Democratic nominee, offers no legitimate alternative and is grossly under-qualified for the position. His only reasonable critique — that of Hosemann’s handling of 16th section lands — is still a stretch. While we believe school districts are not getting what they deserve from these leases, Hosemann has increased that amount as his office renegotiated leases.
Hosemann has also acted honorably in some highly partisan fights where his office has been at the center.
