Clarke Reed endorses David McRae for Treasurer
Today, Clarke Reed, former chairman of the Mississippi Republican Party and member of the Republican National Committee, endorsed David McRae for Treasurer.
Reed is one of the architects of the modern Republican Party in Mississippi. When he became chairman of the state party in the 1960s, few Mississippians voted Republican. Today, Mississippi Republicans hold seven of eight statewide offices, majorities in both chambers of the Legislature, and three of four seats in Congress.
“I’ve known David and his family for sometime now, and he has all the qualifications to be our next state Treasurer,” said Clarke Reed of Greenville. “I will be voting for David McRae on Tuesday, and I urge others to do the same.”
