Clerks preparing for voter ID law

Circuit court clerks in Pike, Amite and Walthall counties say their offices are prepared for Mississippi’s new voter ID law, which goes into effect in January.

Equipment, such as cameras and computers, are set up and operational in Pike and Walthall counties. Amite County received its equipment this past week, The Enterprise-Journal reported (

Training of clerk staffs will be paid for by the secretary of state’s office.
