“Brishen Mathews has to get ready for college ball,” Nutt said. “He has no choice, he has to get ready. He isn’t quite there, yet. He still needs about ten more days. Damien Jackson is getting more comfortable at both safety positions. We need both guys and Johnny Brown to step up.”
Nutt also announced that redshirt freshman safety Terrell Grant had been moved to wide receiver. He also said he was pleased with the depth of the Rebels running backs.
“I feel good about our running backs. I know with Brandon Bolden and Enrique Davis we can pound the ball. You have Devin Thomas and Rodney Scott, who can both run the ball. Then you have a guy like Jeff Scott, who has different speed.”
