If SEC wants to hit the expansion jackpot, it must pull in Texas

The Knoxville News Sentinel’s John Adams recently wrote a column examining the possibility of SEC expansion.

He debated whether expansion was even necessary for a conference like the SEC, which according to him, “will still have the best football conference whether it stands pat or stretches its borders east and west.”

If the SEC does opt to expand as a result of the Big Ten’s likely decision to add more teams and the possibility of the Pac-10 also restructuring, then it needs to bring in Texas for it to make the move worthwhile, according to Adams.
