Palazzo Supports Aiding Harvey Victims
Washington, DC – Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) today supported final approval of a bill that will provide $15.25 billion in emergency funding to aid areas affected by Hurricane Harvey.
“Today I voted once again to support disaster relief for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Unfortunately, despite my vocal opposition, the final bill included several short-term, completely unrelated bills. Houston was held hostage in order to pass legislation that I oppose through Congress.
“However, at the end of the day, anyone who saw the devastation I saw firsthand in Texas could not possibly vote against providing assistance for these victims. President Trump asked me to vote for disaster relief, and I support the president on this vital issue.
“More importantly, I support the victims of Hurricane Harvey and will continue to ensure they get the relief they need to begin the recovery they deserve.”
