Kelly, Boyd to present Military Medals to World War II Army Veteran O.R. Dulaney
Thursday, August 11
11:00 am CST in MANTACHIE:
Representative Trent Kelly and State Representative Randy Boyd (R-Mantachie) will present military medals to World War II Army Veteran Orva “O.R.” Dulaney, Medic, United States Army. The ceremony will take place at the Mantachie First Baptist Church sanctuary located at 6080 Highway 363.
O.R. Dulaney served as a medic during World War II. He survived some of the most fierce battles armed with just a pocket knife. His bravery on the battlefield earned him high honors in the form of medals.
When Dulaney returned from the war, he worked at a grocery store. One day he hung his coat with medals displayed on a back door. That would be the last time he would see his medals.
Fast forward 70 years later. Through the efforts of Kelly and Boyd, Dulaney will again receive the medals that he earned and deserves.
Representative Trent Kelly represents Mississippi’s First Congressional District. He serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Small Business Committee. This is his first term.
