Congressman visits Houston

Congressman Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss) was in town last week talking up his efforts to control spending and reduce taxes with just two weeks to go before the Nov. 6 general election.

Nunnelee had lunch with local business leaders and Chickasaw Development Foundation members at My Friend’s Place on Oct. 17 and went on to visit with voters at local businesses that afternoon.

“As a small businessman, I know that an out of control welfare state and higher taxes do not create jobs,” said Nunnelee. “I also know that our welfare programs largely fail at helping people get off the dole and back to work.”
