Congressman Palazzo says many Mississippians ‘have zero desire’ to engage in another conflict

U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo wants President Barack Obama to consult with Congress before continuing his pursuit of U.S. military intervention in Syria.

Said Palazzo: “The overwhelming response that I’m hearing from my constituents is ‘America needs to stay out of the Syrian conflict.’ Knowing how Mississippians feel and that Syria poses no direct threat to the United States, I believe it is wholly appropriate for President Obama to consult with Congress. As I review the evidence that is being presented and the president’s request for military action, I am all too aware that many Mississippians have zero desire to engage in another conflict in the Middle East.”

Palazzo was one of 116 congressmen and women Friday who signed onto the Rigell letter, which also urged President Obama to seek Congress’ assistance.
