Croom: Offense ‘going to open up’
HOOVER, ALA. — Mississippi State coach Sylvester Croom, fresh off an eight-win season and bowl win, doesn’t talk like a man who’s drunk with success — or the $1.7 million salary he’ll earn this year.
Far from it. Though he said he’s happy with the newfound respect his program has earned after its first winning season since 2000, the fifth-year MSU coach, speaking to some 750 reporters at SEC Media Days at The Wynfrey Hotel here, said it wasn’t about him.
“I just feel like we’ve taken another step,” Croom said. “It’s just another step in the process.”
