Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann reminds Mississippians the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 general election is Oct. 9.
Because that date falls on a Sunday, the last day to register to vote in person for the November general election will be this Saturday, Oct. 8. State law requires circuit clerks’ offices to be open from 8 a.m.-noon the Saturday before the deadline for voter registration.
“We elect not only our statewide, legislative and some county officials, but we also decide three basic constitutional issues this general election,” said Hosemann. “The personhood, voter identification and eminent domain initiatives will be on the ballot this general election. Don’t let someone else decide these important initiatives for you — register to vote in the upcoming election. I encourage you not to wait until the last minute. Register to vote today.”
