The Mississippi State Personnel Board today announced the appointment of
Deanne Mosley as Executive Director of the Mississippi State Personnel Board, effective
January 5, 2012. Mosley replaces Lynn Fitch, who has been elected State Treasurer.
“Deanne’s wealth of experience at MSPB and distinguished service throughout State
government made her the obvious choice to lead our agency,” said MSPB Chairman Donald
Brown. “We are delighted that she has accepted this position and look forward to her
leadership.”

Governor-Elect Phil Bryant approved Mosley’s appointment. “I am pleased that Deanne
Mosley has accepted the position of Executive Director of the State Personnel Board,” said
Governor-Elect Phil Bryant. “Her hard work has earned her the respect of her peers, and I’m
looking forward to working with her.”

Mosley has served as MSPB Chief of Staff since June 2009. Prior to returning to public
service, she was in private practice and had previously served as Special Assistant Attorney
General and Director of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. While with the
Attorney General’s Office, she served as in-house counsel at the Mississippi State Personnel
Board, the Department of Education, and the Department of Finance and Administration.
“I am grateful to the Board, Governor-Elect Phil Bryant, and Governor Haley Barbour for
allowing me this opportunity to serve the State of Mississippi and the 31,000 public employees
throughout the State that MSPB serves,” Mosley said. “I look forward to working with them,
the Legislature, and our state agencies to ensure a quality workforce for the State of
Mississippi.”

Mosley, a native of Meridian, received a Bachelor of Public Administration and a Juris
Doctorate from the University of Mississippi. An active member of the National Association of
State Personnel Executives, she was recently inducted as a Fellow of the Young Lawyers
Division of the Mississippi Bar and honored as one of fifty “Leaders in Law” by the Mississippi
Business Journal.
