Former Madison County Supervisor and state Sen. Tom Johnson knows he has an uphill battle to beat incumbent Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves in the Nov. 3 general election.
Johnson, the Democratic Party nominee, was in Meridian Thursday to campaign and stressed a three-prong platform he hopes will entice Mississippi voters in November.
“I know running against him (Reeves) is a tough task, but that’s the beauty of elections,” Johnson said. “I’m putting my platform and my experience out there. I know he (Reeves) has a lot of money, but I am running for the people of the state of Mississippi.”
