Hundreds of Gulf Coast residents struggling to insure their homes and businesses joined U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats Monday to push disaster insurance reform.

But at the town hall meeting hosted by Fourth District U.S. Rep. Gene Taylor, D-Bay St. Louis, the delegation said it would be a challenge to make his legislation become law.

Taylor wants to add wind coverage to federal flood insurance, an effort facing opposition in the Senate, from the White House and from the insurance industry.
