U.S. Supreme won’t hear Mississippi cases as term begins

The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal from disbarred Mississippi attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs or a death row inmate’s challenge to Mississippi’s method of execution by injection.

The Supreme Court began its new term Monday by turning away hundreds of appeals, including Virginia’s bid to revive its anti-sodomy law.
