Donors hold key to Pitino’s career at Louisville

Hopefully, Rick Pitino has been pleasant to the Louisville boosters. His fate is now in their wealthy hands.
Louisville president James Ramsey endorsed Pitino after the coach’s public apology for having sex with a woman outside his marriage. Ramsey said Thursday that the hoops coach is “our guy.” Amazingly, in a laugh-out-loud-it’s-so-absurd comment, Ramsey went on to say that he believes the school will become stronger following Pitino’s apology.
That’s the type of support you get when you win 31 games and reach the Elite Eight, which is what Pitino did last season with the Cardinals. Boosters like winning too, so Pitino will likely be safe.
