Early voter turnout light; Survey: Many voters still undecided on Jackson mayoral candidates

Jackson residents headed to the polls early this morning to decide on a slew of candidates for mayor and City Council.

Turnout appeared light at Christ United Methodist Church in the northeast part of the city. A half dozen voters stood in line waiting for the polls to open at 7 a.m.

Milton Hall of Jackson said he wanted to vote early because he has “a busy day.” He said that out of the 10 mayoral candidates, he made his selection based on the recommendation of a friend that attends his church.
