Coral Gables Gainesville Tallahassee – With an injury to starter Colin McCarthy, UM freshman linebacker Arthur Brown could see his first playing time of the season.
McCarthy will miss the remainder of the year with a shoulder injury, leaving an opportunity for Brown. He was the Hurricanes’ highest-rated recruit out of high school but has struggled with the adjustment to the next level. He has only played special teams.
“I’m still in the learning process,” Brown said. “I’m getting better every day. It’s just a slow process.”
Brown, who was ranked the No. 1 prospect by Scout.com, has watched other freshman surpass him on the depth chart. Sean Spence and Jordan Futch have both played more, but Brown is ready for his chance. He is listed as the backup strongside linebacker.
