Former Miami quarterback Derrick Crudup Jr. has recently joined Alabama’s offensive coaching staff, according to his father Derrick Crudup Sr., a former QB at Oklahoma and in the NFL.
While not a position coach, Crudup Jr. will serve as offensive “quality control,” his father said, helping out with Alabama’s quarterbacks and wide receivers.
“It’s a golden opportunity for him,” Crudup Sr. said.
The younger Crudup, 27, presumably fills the position vacated at Alabama by former offensive intern Sedrick Irvin, who joined the staff at Memphis. Graduate assistant Mike Groh also departed this offseason to the staff at Louisville.
