Gov. John Kasich will have some company as he headlines the Ohio Republican Party’s annual fundraising dinner next month in Columbus.
Kasich, up for re-election this fall, will share billing with Haley Barbour, a former governor of Mississippi who remains influential in national Republican politics.
The dinner, which is the state party’s largest fundraiser of the year, is scheduled for May 10 at the Columbus Renaissance Hotel. Ticket prices start at $100 for general admission, with higher contributions entitling donors to a VIP reception before the speeches.
Barbour, a former Republican National Committee chairman, was one of Kasich’s favorites in the run-up to the 2012 presidential race. But Barbour opted against a bid.
