Judge sides with auditor in Davis civil case

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Former Southaven Mayor Greg Davis was ordered Tuesday to repay $73,000 for misusing city funds for trips, expensive dinners and clothing.

Hinds County Chancery Judge Dewayne Thomas ruled that Davis is liable for the full amount sought by State Auditor Stacey Pickering.

“This investigation began more than three years ago, and we have remained committed to protecting the taxpayers of Southaven during this time,” Pickering said in a statement.

The trial in the matter concluded last October.
