HAVANA (WTVA) – Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant talks state and national trade in a trip to Cuba Wednesday.
Bryant met with Cuba’s trade minster and said he found his trip “encouraging.”
Even with a U.S. embargo preventing most trade with Cuba, Mississippi already exports authorized products to the island such as frozen poultry and healthcare products, according to the U.S.-Cuba Trade and Economic Council.
The Republican governor also spoke about President Donald Trump’s stake with Cuba. He said Trump should stark talks with Cuba to reopen trade.
