Gov. Phil Bryant’s longtime spokesman said he will step down after nearly 10 years in service with Bryant.
Mick Bullock, Bryant’s director of communications, said he is leaving his position to take a job with the National Conference of State Legislatures, which begins on Jan. 6. In his new role, Bullock will serve as the bipartisan organization’s director of public affairs.
“We are excited to have Mick join our staff,” said Neal Osten, director of the NCSL office in Washington, D.C. “We are indeed very lucky that he will be heading up our media and public affairs efforts here in Washington but also in maintaining good relations with the press in state houses across the country.”
The governor also commented on Bullock’s resignation.
