Today, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) awarded Representative Gregg Harper (R-MS-03) the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence at an event hosted by NAM member Armstrong World Industries in Jackson, Mississippi.

“This was a very exciting day for us. On behalf Armstrong, and our 8,000 employees, about 140 of which are here in Jackson, it gave me great pleasure to present this award to Congressman Harper, for advocating policies that will allow us to grow, create jobs and compete globally. We are honored to have him in our corner,” said Chuck Grogan, VP, Global Operations for Armstrong World Industries.

“Manufacturing is a vital component of Mississippi’s diverse and growing economy, and companies like Armstrong World Industries help to strengthen our State,” said Congressman Gregg Harper. “I am so honored to receive this award, and I remain committed to advancing commonsense proposals that make it easier for manufacturers to grow and prosper. Mississippi is open for business and I will continue to work with my colleagues at home and in Washington to promote a pro-growth, pro-jobs agenda.”

“Manufacturing in Mississippi and across the country is making a comeback,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Manufacturers are growing the economy and creating high-paying jobs in a sector that adds $1.32 to the economy for every $1 spent. Representative Harper understands that leaders in Washington must advance policies that will continue to fuel this economic growth and has consistently supported manufacturers through his votes in Congress.”

Key Votes included in the Voting Record are selected by small, medium and large manufacturing executives who serve on the NAM’s Key Vote Advisory Committee.
