I am just saying maybe Mississippi Democrats might have more success in state elections if there is not a prime target in the White House alienating many Mississippians.
No doubt, Mississippi Democrats must have mixed emotions.
With a Republican in the White House, Mississippi Democrats would lose out on important issues, such as the appointment of Supreme Court justices, and would run the risk of losing important progressive gains made under Obama, such as health care changes, but perhaps they could elect a few more candidates to the state Legislature. Maybe Democrats could even elect a few more statewide candidates – or at least field a viable slate of candidates.
Hey, it’s just a theory.
