BOBBY HARRISON: Political persuasion kept pace at Neshoba Fair

At this year’s Fair, Reeves channeled his inner-Donald Trump as he literally yelled from the podium.

Much of Reeves’ yelling was directed at Attorney General Jim Hood of Houston, who is Mississippi’s lone statewide elected Democrat.

Hood, in his fourth-term as attorney general, has dutifully shown up each year at the Fair to what would be considered a generally lukewarm welcome.

He also is sounding more and more like a gubernatorial candidate, who arguably would be the Democrats’ first legitimate candidate for governor since 2003. He consistently lambasts legislative leaders for their budget woes, complicated at least in part by the multiple business tax cuts given in recent years. Hood did the same at this year’s Neshoba County Fair.
